Vaude
The peak
of sustainability
In what kind of world do we want to live? We ask ourselves this question with every new idea. And each new design. Every day. The fact is, global demand for sustainable products is now higher than ever before. Customers want to shop with a clear conscience – while accepting no compromises when it comes to product quality. Our vision of a harmonious brand architecture for the outdoor manufacturer Vaude addresses precisely this dilemma. Our task was to design a sustainable trade-fair construction system that moves with the times. Challenge accepted! We came up with modular furniture that works equally well for trade fairs, shop fitting and showrooms. And which has not been outsourced since. The brand thus benefits from an honest and ecological footprint. And so do we.
Serious sustainability
Intelligent furniture for trade fairs and shop fitting, which inspires both Vaude and its franchise holders. We helped them see the wood for the trees. Speaking of which: wood is the perfect material here. Conceived as a modular plug-in system with matching seating and luminaires. That’s more like it! Our design has since grown into a system for use in retail outlets and at trade fairs. So valuable and timeless that it has achieved almost a cult-like following. And because it turned out so beautifully, we delivered the matching communication design for the shop-fitting booklet with the same degree of sophistication. All natural? Of course!
Built on quality
The products of the outdoor manufacturer Vaude accompany you wherever you go, from mountain peaks to the deepest valleys. In 2011, we applied this guiding principle to our trade-fair design – and have since expanded on it several times a year, including at ISPO, Eurobike and Outdoor. Displays integrated into the mountain panorama display – and promote – an abundance of action. Below, down in the valley, there is a birch forest with room for quiet conversations. But the star is and remains our modular connector system made from wood. To this day, it remains the constant element that links the whole, despite annually changing designs. The peak of trade-fair design.
Staged and engaged
Since there is no uniform worldwide standard for the evaluation of “organic products”, Vaude has developed its own evaluation system based on strict criteria. Its name is Green Shape. We introduced this topic at ISPO Munich in 2018 sustainably – in the form of an impressive sheet installation made from eco-paper. With some highly effective staging. The leaves were stylishly attached by means of borrowed climbing ropes. Illuminated cubes became the stage for fascinating eco-stories – have you heard the one about recycled plastic bottles being transformed into backpacks? Where will your next journey take you?
Retail design & POS
Shop where it feels completely natural. To be. To browse. To buy. Where people treat nature with respect. Our ecologically intelligent sustainability concept is also found in the retail design and POS at all Vaude stores. In the form of wooden steles, for example, which also serve as a communication tool. Large-scale photo motifs add emotion and tension to the respective subject areas. This is where you want to get equipped – for your next exciting adventure.
Products with alignment
Off-the-peg clothes? Not at Vaude! They also don’t do artificial product design. Wall elements, coat hangers, body plinths, murals – everything echoes a single theme. Nature. Made from local wood. Folded ceiling lights add a touch of extravagance. Subtle and yet present. The best possible proof that naturalness is anything but boring. Attention to detail creates the big picture here.
Graphic design without chichi
By explorers for explorers: our design manual for Vaude. From furniture catalogues to flyers – the visual language and haptics sum up what the company stands for. No frills, just natural aesthetics. In all their creative forms. Otherwise, would we have designed a flyer that urges you to get hands on and ‘play’? Open it up and get lost inside. Literally. Be inspired. Recognise new perspectives. Be your own role model.
