On a con­struc­tion site, it must be clear who has the plan. Who­se state­ments can be reli­ed upon? Who is respon­si­ble? Kös­ter GmbH gives a self-con­fi­dent ans­wer – and shows its true colours. The com­pa­ny is Germany’s lea­ding con­struc­tion com­pa­ny for the working envi­ron­ment, housing and living as well as infra­st­ruc­tu­re. The ran­ge of ser­vices extends from indi­vi­du­al plan­ning to the turn­key imple­men­ta­ti­on of con­struc­tion pro­jects. Tailor-made con­struc­tion pro­jects are imple­men­ted in this way through a net­work of 20 loca­ti­ons nati­on­wi­de. Free­ly adap­ted from the Greek phi­lo­so­pher Aris­tot­le who once said “The who­le is more than the sum of its parts”, we have crea­ted a uni­form brand design for Köster.

Giving shape to a brand

How does a gene­ral con­trac­tor stand out in today’s mar­ket? And how do you design a brand for an orga­ni­sa­ti­on with 2,000 employees and a tur­no­ver of 1.3 bil­li­on euros? For Kös­ter GmbH, our focus was on crea­ting a cohe­rent brand image. And the result has a signal effect. Just like an excla­ma­ti­on mark, a ver­ti­cal red column marks every con­struc­tion site. This makes it easy to see who is respon­si­ble for the pro­ject even from a distance. The red form is as simp­le as it is solid.

From the busi­ness card to the con­struc­tion site, it sup­ports and sta­bi­li­ses the ent­i­re cor­po­ra­te com­mu­ni­ca­ti­on – intern­al­ly and extern­al­ly. Cus­to­mers and employees recei­ve a clear mes­sa­ge across all media: with Kös­ter, con­struc­tion pro­jects gain sta­bi­li­ty and struc­tu­re. An unmistaka­ble state­ment for which we had pre­vious­ly ana­ly­sed the mar­ket and worked out how the com­pa­ny stood out from its competitors.


Incorporated inside – presented to the outside

As an expert for indi­vi­du­al buil­dings, com­pe­tence and relia­bi­li­ty are natu­ral­ly at the top of Köster’s agen­da. But you can only shi­ne on the out­side if the­re is cohe­rent posi­tio­ning on the insi­de. We visi­b­ly trans­por­ted and com­mu­ni­ca­ted the­se values – for the two- and three-dimen­sio­nal spaces as well as ana­lo­gue and digi­tal space.

Flying high in the digital world

We are accom­pany­ing Kös­ter on its jour­ney through digi­tal trans­for­ma­ti­on. We are crea­ting sales media, cus­to­mer news­let­ters, pre­sen­ta­ti­on tem­pla­tes, vir­tu­al tra­de fairs and info­gra­phics. With the online brand manu­al, we have also given the com­pa­ny a gui­de that digi­tal­ly puts the cor­po­ra­te design on paper. Con­sis­tent and memo­r­able. For two- and three-dimen­sio­nal spaces. With the aim of a visi­b­ly strin­gent brand expe­ri­ence that still lea­ves enough room for the fur­ther deve­lo­p­ment of the brand.


Con­struc­tion abo­ve and below ground. Eco­no­mi­c­al and indi­vi­du­al – that is Köster’s core com­pe­tence. We sup­plied a new tra­de fair design for the com­pa­ny as part of the cor­po­ra­te design. The cor­po­ra­te colours extend across the stand as space-crea­ting colum­ns on the floor, walls and cei­ling, drawing visi­tors strai­ght insi­de the stand. In its­elf, this is a simp­le and clear design, which gives the core com­pe­ten­ces the necessa­ry space to work.
