A building like something out of a fairy tale: Montfort Castle in Langenargen on Lake Constance shows what has long lain dormant – architectural grace. In the 19th century, the castle received its name from King Wilhelm I. Over the centuries, the property, built in the extremely rare Moorish style, served as a magnificent villa, guesthouse, spa and even office building. We were allowed to make our contribution to the preservation of this gem – with loving restorations and matching graphic works across several media.
Strategy & Consulting
Highlighting hidden treasures to crown them. Realise new spaces at the same time. Combining the enduring with the new. On and offline. In the time-honoured cellar walls of Montfort Castle, we have created a stylish wine bar that not only reflects the elegant character of the building, but also allows you to experience it with all your senses. Here, the joy of enjoyment is poured and hospitality is celebrated. We have also translated this concept into a new website. This way, you can revel in times long past, even beyond the country’s borders.
A delicious feast for the eyes is like a good drop for the throat. We have combined both in the gastronomy architecture – in the basement we created a stylish and timeless wine bar. For this, we uncovered parts of the existing cellar walls and added natural and pure materials such as wood, steel and brass. In addition, minimalist furniture that does not steal the show but stylishly underlines the room’s original character. Full-bodied aesthetics also in the walk-in wine storage, which can be used for small but fine wine, whiskey and digestif tastings. Or for various festivities that call for a special setting. Wine cellar with lake terrace – anything but ordinary!
We also applied fine aesthetics to the communication of Montfort Castle. Starting with the redesign of the existing logo, to a house font in keeping with the hotel’s status, which is only too happy to be understood as a visible promise. One that is repeated in the food and drink menus as well as in advertisements and flyers. A journey of pleasure for the eye that extends to the most tasteful corners of the wine bar.
A modern platform for a castle steeped in tradition. We staged the new website with the same attention to detail that we find in the majestic rooms themselves. Honest, pure and appropriate for today’s digital communication – yet with a nostalgic touch. A new dimension for a place whose magic is not only tangible offline.
