A very special Riesling thrives on the steep slate slopes of the picturesque Middle Rhine Valley. Down in the historic town of Bacharach, not a stone’s throw from the banks of the river, lies the Bär winery. We have fundamentally reorganised the use of space in the estate’s existing buildings. In addition, a new building is planned, which will be harmoniously integrated into the historic house front.
Strong as a bear
Together with the owners, an action plan was developed for the renovation and expansion of the winery. In addition to realigning and strengthening the brand, a utilisation concept was developed for the existing buildings and the new building, making the Bär winery an all-round experience for visitors – and firmly linking the estate to the cultural heritage of Bacharach.

The Bärenhalle
In addition to the existing historical building, the estate is to be extended by a new building that is quite literally a real challenge. This is where the complete processing of the Middle Rhine grapes will take place: from delivery, filtration, pressing and sedimentation to the fermentation process and the final bottling, corking and labelling of the wines. In the Bärenhallte, visitors can experience how a special fruit is turned into a special wine.
